IT Industry Adds Record 85,000 New Employees In Q1

The Indian information technology (IT) industry added a record around 85,000 new hires in the first quarter, of the ongoing financial year. Bahrain pardons 250 Indian prisoners in a humanitarian gesture" Modi

The Bahrain government on August 25 pardoned 250 Indians serving sentences in the Gulf nation during the maiden visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the oil-rich country. Modi expressed his gratitude to the Bahrain leadership for the Royal pardon. As many as 8,189 Indians are lodged in various prisons in foreign countries, with Saudi Arabia having the highest number at 1,811 followed by the UAE at 1,392. Click here for f ull details here

UAE can be a 'valuable partner' in India's $5 trillion economy goal: Modi

Abu Dhabi: India finds a partner in the UAE to achieve its ambitious dream of achieving a $5 trillion economy, Prime Minister Narendra Modi told the Emirates News Agency, WAM, in an exclusive interview. "We consider the UAE as a valuable partner in realising the objective to reach $5 trillion economy through a mutually beneficial partnership," said Modi who started on Friday night a two-day state visit to the UAE. There is no space for anything temporary in India anymore, says PM Modi

New Delhi:  Defending the decision of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) to abrogate Article 370 and 35-A, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said there was no space for anything temporary in the country. Modi was a speaking at a programme in Paris where he addressed the Indian community. Although Modi did not name Article 370, he instead chose to use the word temporary in his speech. The Prime Minister also spoke about the government's decision to make instant  triple talaq  illegal and said it will empower the Muslim women in India, and the blessings of these women will strengthen the country. India Inc applauds govt's measures to revive the economy

NEW DELHI: India Inc applauded on Friday the large number of measures announced by the government covering a wide range of sectors and said that shocking interventions will strengthen confidence and revive animal spirits in the economy that began to show signs of a deep slowdown .  Addressing a press conference here, finance minister  Nirmala Sitharaman  He said that all pending GST refunds to micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to date will be paid within 30 days, while future refund issues will be resolved within 60 days.  Read here

Sitharaman's Big Announcements For Ailing Auto Sector

By:  Express Drives Desk   In her media address today, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman clarified that vehicles compliant to BS IV emissions standards sold till March 2020 will be valid and will remain legally operational. She went on to speak about the proposed increase in one-time vehicle registration fee, saying that the proposal has been pushed back to June 2020. Furthermore, the ban on the purchase of new vehicles for government departments will be lifted, promoting the replacement of old government vehicles with new ones. The FM has also clarified that both EVs and ICE vehicles will continue to be registered in future also. Bringing the focus on depreciation value of vehicles and scrappage, Sitharaman said that depreciation will be increased to 30% for all vehicles and that the government will work on formulating a scrappage policy for old vehicles, adding that currently, India does not have the infrastructure for it.
